Bus drivers don't wave to each other!
It seems to be high maintenance - water and roads, slopes are constantly being ripped up and redone. This can be quite convenient in small roads where two directions need to be managed through one working lane.
The lecturer often starts class with fewer than ten people. One class started with two people. Another class often sees attendance of about eight, however twenty-four students showed up for the test.
When I say I'm from Australia, some local students exclaim "but you're not white."
There seems to be a bit of a bad habit people of not moving themselves and things aside. In computer labs people leave chairs in the middle of thoroughfares.
There's a bit of an assumption that I can't use chopsticks because I come from a western country and so a knife and fork is offered strongly.

30 per hour from sales
160 per hour from tutoring
High-school students can enjoy fast-food for lunch due to the proximity of just about everything.
Some people here are so vain/fashionable that they'll wear glasses frames with no lenses.
I've been told that the correct way to identify a Hong Konger from a mainlander is by the messiness of their hair.
Books may be borrowed for two months at a time with five renewals:- that's one year in total. However, they are subject to recall after the first fourteen days.
They have help alarms in the female toilets!

actually i know two people here who wear frames without lenses...one does it at work and almost a year down the track there were still people saying they'd only just noticed that fact...
